Investigates the suitable periods for night ventilation on the basis of the typical meteorological year data statistics, simulates the internal and external surface temperatures of an external wall with external thermal insulation by the EnergyPlus software, and calculates the node temperatures of the wall using Matlab. Analyses the change rules of hourly heat flux density and hourly heat storage under boundary conditions of periodic outdoor air temperature. The results show that the suitable periods for night ventilation cooling in Bijie, Guiyang, Zunyi are 17:00 to next 10:00, 20:00 to next 09:00 and 22:00 to next 08:00, respectively. However, in the period of 22:00 to next 01:00, inner cement of the exterior wall still releases heat into the indoor environment which would increase cooling load of the room consequently, due to the effect of insulation and the time lag of external walls.
